Introduction

VoxWave is a voice dictation application that primarily runs locally on your computer. Protecting your privacy is at the core of our approach.

Data Collected by the Software

Local Mode (default)

In local mode, no data leaves your computer. Audio is captured, transcribed, and cleaned entirely on your machine using Whisper and Ollama. Nothing is sent to an external server.

Cloud Mode (optional)

If you enable cloud mode, your audio data is sent to the following services for processing:

• Groq API — audio transcription (whisper-large-v3-turbo)
• OpenAI API — transcribed text cleanup (GPT-4o-mini)

These services have their own privacy policies. Your API keys are stored locally in a .env file on your machine and are never shared with VoxWave.

Data Collected by the Website

The website voxwave.app may collect the following data:

• Anonymized browsing data (pages visited, visit duration) via analytics tools
• Email address if you voluntarily contact us

We do not use advertising cookies and do not sell any personal data to third parties.

Licensing and Payments

Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy (Lemon Squeezy LLC). Your payment information (credit card, email) is handled directly by LemonSqueezy and never passes through our servers. See the LemonSqueezy privacy policy.

Data Storage

All software data (configuration, history, API keys) is stored locally on your computer in the VoxWave configuration folder. You can delete it at any time by uninstalling the software.
